I
probably stitched the rose more than a year ago and planned to use it
on a sympathy card, but the right idea just wouldn't
come. Recently, I saw they had a couple of new swirl-papers at
Rayher, and I suddenly knew how to use the rose ;) To make sure
the card wouldn't be all too empty, I added a tiny silver sticker to
the rose, and a couple of beads in the corners.
The
red background seems to be a little too intense, but I'm not sure
whether it's true or is it just me not being satisfied, as always? :)... this is what happens if you unleash a med student with no husband, no kids, no pets and too much leisure time ...

Roses
Simple
white rose on a handwriting-background. Inspired by the White Rose I first wanted to use one of their leaflets for the background,
but it seemed to be a bit too "hard" for the fragile
flower. Also, the message was a bit too "readable" for a
sympathy card, I think.

Triangular
Sometimes
I wonder how the crafting companies know how many beads to put in a
box, because no matter what you do there are always some beads left
at the end of any project.
That way, you either end up buying another box for another project or storing almost empty boxes with beads that don't really fit anywhere.
Trying to avoid both of the above, I decided to use some 2.2 mm delica beads that left over a while ago, and do whatever I can with them. As I'm trying to use up some of those almost empty boxes in my collection, I especially wanted to finish whatever it would be without buying another box of beads.
I decided to make some triangular earrings but expected to run out of beads, so I modified the pattern a little bit. Instead of making two identical layers for each triangle and stuff the space in between, I finished the upper layer of the earlier, which makes the whole thing even more interesting to me.

In

you can imagine, a few beads left over to make sure the vicious
circle never ends :)

Little owls
Just in: Those
cute little owls caught my eye some time ago, and although I thought
they'd make some nice boxes, I finally used them on a wooden vase.
Inside it, there's just enough space for a glass of water with branches growing their first leafs.

Spring angel
I
got this little wooden angel as a Christmas present from mom's man.
When I first saw it, I knew this cutie deserves some special
clothing. I decided to use napkin-decoupage, but instead of typical
Christmas motifs, I wanted to decorate it with flowers. As
the angel measures only about 10 cm, my first challenge was finding
motifs that would look good on the little figure and fit to my idea
of angels.
In
the end, I used some napkins my sister brought from the Netherlands
last year. The small roses and forget-me-not's are just the right
kind, and make a lovely spring angel.
A
few beads on the string, and voilà:

Flower bracelet
Around
Christmas, I discovered beadsmagic.com, a site with a wonderful
collection of patterns for different jewelry projects. The first one
I tried is a simple flower bracelet. Using bronze glass crystal beads
and golden delicas it seems to bring something of a warm autumn day.
Maybe a walk through a brown-and-gold coloured forest?
