Long story short, I scrolled through the list, realizing it includes many animals I wouldn't label as "nocturnal", but then again - lifelong learning. With so many critters to pick from, I opted to present you with a fox.
The motif of the little fella comes from the cover of an album of pretty papers by Nina Štajner. I cut it out alongside many other figures since they were way too cute to be thrown away. I've already used a couple of them here and there, and now it was time to use another one.
Since the fox is gazing into something above, I wanted to create a bit of a scenery. At first, I was thinking about a combination with colourful autumn papers, but I soon settled on this wonderful starry sky. I like to think it's a coincidence, but I think it's funny how the background paper enhances the "nocturnal" theme.
In order to not overwhelm the card with stars, I decided to use one of those window cards - and the starry sky now framed by a layer of white turned out to look boring. Trying for a solution, I used a couple of pine branches, which makes it look like the fox sits underneath a tree.
In the very end, I added a bit of bling by using a tiny golden sticker. I placed it around the oval "window" of the card base to frame the starry sky. And I think this one element really brings everything together.

What do you think? Is this a good interpretation of a nocturnal animal? And which occasion would be best to use the card? For the upcoming Christmas/winter holidays maybe? A child's birthday? Or even a sympathy card?

- as you like it: favourite Christmas embellishment (golden stickers - I love to use them as small highlights or bigger centerpieces, and I think they give the perfect amount of bling. What makes it even better: since they're flat, they make cards easy to ship unlike pearls and gemstones. I like adding different shapes of stickers, naturally mostly are stars and stripes, but I also like to incorporate swirls etc. Many of the items don't even come from Christmas sticker stash, it could be random finds in my sticker stash that happen to match the mood of my creation.)
