Today, I'd like to present a simple Christmas card in gold and brown and invite you to play along in the newest Fadengrafik Challenge: "Xmas in July". Maybe you've already started making Christmas cards to be prepared for the holidays, maybe – like me – you feel completely unrelated to that time of year when it's 30°C outside.

Nevermind, I managed to stitch this geometric star overnight.

As I'm really not in Christmas mood right now, I decided to avoid any fussy glitter things and colourful papers. Instead, I used a simple brown background paper with tiny white Christmas messages on it. And while I thought of light brown paper and 3D pads for the star at first, I realized it would give me too little contrast. I ran out of fantasy for a moment, but then remembered a piece of corrugated paper in my stash. To make it a little more vivid, I shifted it a little bit and placed it on the upper part of the card.

In the lower part, I placed a golden sticker saying "Happy Christmas".

When I was done, I had an early morning walk up the castle hill, enjoying the first rays of sunshine, thinking how lovely it would be if I would escape to the seaside for a day. Oh well...
