The prominent white church of St. Mary...
... remains of ancient times...
... and - a little bit hidden but certainly worth a loser look - the lovely church of St. John.
Lonely streets...
... a kindergarten by the sea...
... and creatures that don't seem to miss crowds of tourists at all.
And after a short walk uphill, a beautiful view opens up towards the Starigrad plain in the west.
Poppies by the roadside...
... and a taste of local wines, beautifully arranged with little snacks.
After a short break, it was time to go into the wild, away from the city with no clear goal in my mind. On a lovely trail by the roadside, past secure bays, greenery, and rocks...
... past a couple of coastguards...
... and to the lighthouse.
And just when I thought "What a windy day", it was time to meet the winds that came from the open sea.
After a while, however, I decided to turn around to head towards dinner. The revelation of the day: a rich buffet to choose from is a fantastic alternative to the efforts of cooking at home. Maybe I should consider moving into a hotel during my usual pre-exam "no time to eat" marathons.
May nights still do come early. On the other hand, a little rock climbing in the dark is a beautiful way to let the day come to an end.
