Inspired by blue skies - or maybe by a memory of summer - I finished another card featuring one of the Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Baker.
Matching the image I've chosen blue shaded yarn to stitch the border that I've additionally decorated with tiny pearls and gemstones. Originally, I thought I'd stick it all onto a blue cardboard, but as I didn't have any in stock, so I decided to use a piece of light blue paper with embossed swirls on a plain white card base.
To distinguish the fairy image from its background, I used a dark blue cardboard and 3D pads.
As it all turned out to be a little bigger than the border, I decided to cut off the lower part of the illustration and part of the upper part, which results in the cornflower overlapping with the blue border.
Sweet summer days...
