Celebration!

Just a quick card for a late evening can't-sleep-post.
As the card is one for the birthday of my wasn't-meant-to-be father in law, I tried to make an elegant, yet simple thing. This is the result:

For the main motif, I've chosen a stitching pattern of a champagne celebration which I coloured with coloured pencils. Additionally, I placed a couple of shimmering rhinestones on the glasses as well as the bottle.

For a contrast to the red ribbon, I used a pastel blue cardboard which I planned to put on the light yellow background paper. However, I didn't like this combination after all, which is why I decided to place another layer of beige cardboard with embossed shimmering swirls between them.

For a little "something" in the card, I used a floral border punch and tiny pearls. And for some time, the card was done.

Only before I sent it off, I added a simple birthday sentiment which I placed on yellow cardboard to make sure it pops out properly.
